Shipping & Returns Policy for Bay State Surplus

At Bay State Surplus, we strive to provide our customers with the best possible shopping experience. We understand that sometimes returns may be necessary, and thus we have established the following shipping and returns policy for both in-person and online purchases:

In-Person Purchases:
- We accept returns for up to 7 days from the date of purchase, provided that the item is in the same exact condition it was sold in, and all originally included contents are intact.
- A 15% fee of the original purchase price will be deducted from the refund amount to cover restocking and processing fees.
Online Purchases:
- We accept returns for up to 7 days from the date of delivery, contingent upon the item being in the same exact condition it was sold in.
- A 15% fee of the original purchase price will be deducted from the refund amount to cover restocking and processing fees.
- The person returning the item is responsible for covering the shipping costs associated with the return.

Please note the following additional details regarding our shipping and returns policy:

1. Return Process:
- To initiate a return, please contact our customer service within the specified return period, either by phone or email. They will guide you through the process.
- Returns must be authorized by Bay State Surplus before returning the item.

2. Return Eligibility:
- To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition as when it was sold. This includes all original contents, packaging, and any accessories included with the purchase.
- Items that have been altered, damaged, or show signs of wear will not be eligible for return.
3. Refunds:
- Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you via email regarding the approval or rejection of your refund.
- Refunds will be processed within a reasonable period of time, typically within 7-14 business days.
- The refund amount will be the purchase price minus the 15% restocking fee.

We try our best to put disclaimers in the description of every non-MA-Compliant item on the website. However, it is the responsibility of the buyer to do their own research before they purchase, we are always open to answer any questions you may have about the legal status specific inventory in MA. If you purchase an item off the website, only to find out it is not compliant, we will issue a refund, but is subject to the 3.5% processing fee that our payment processor charges us.
4. Exemptions:
- There are certain items that are non-returnable, including items that were shipped from third parties, ammunition. Consult Bay State Surplus to find out which other items are not returnable. Please ensure that you consider the purchase carefully before making it.
5. Shipping:
- Shipping costs are non-refundable, except in cases where there was an error on our part or if the item received was defective.
- If you are shipping an item over $75, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

6. Unapproved Transfers:
In instances where we receive a firearm for transfer, and it fails to meet the compliance standards established under MA law upon our inspection, the initially agreed transfer fee will still apply. If the return to the original transfer source is possible, a handling fee of $25 will be charged in addition to the shipping cost to send it back.

7. Non-Compliant Website Purchases
While we make every effort to include disclaimers in the descriptions of non-MA Compliant items on our website, but we cannot guarantee that these descriptions are up to date with current laws. it is ultimately 100% the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that the items comply with the specific legal regulations in Massachusetts. We encourage you to do thorough research before making a purchase and are always available to answer any questions you may have about the legal status of specific inventory in MA.
Refund Policy:
If you purchase an item from our website and subsequently discover it is not MA compliant, we will issue a refund. However, please note that the refund will be subject to a 3.5% processing fee, which is imposed by our payment processor.
