Up for sale is a J.C. Higgins Model 583 bolt-action 16 gauge shotgun, chambered 2-3/4in with a full choke.

The Higgins 583 was Sears' bolt-action shotgun, built by High Standard -- a simple, rugged, honest working gun. Walnut stock, full-length barrel, classic mid-century American iron.

Vintage condition with honest handling wear and some light barrel freckling -- a solid, affordable 16ga that still gets it done.

We have visually inspected and function checked this firearm, but it has not been test fired.
