Its Petition Time!

Oh, joy! Maura Healey and her merry band of bureaucrats have received a not-so-gentle reminder from the ghost of democracy past. Yes, once upon a time, in an era seemingly erased from their collective memories, laws were designed to include the PEOPLE in the legislative process. Imagine that! Within mere days of the petition to repeal Chapter 135 making its debut, Team Healey scrambled frantically, leveraging every resource imaginable to brand it "unconstitutional." Yet, lo and behold, we seemingly still reside in the United States of America, as the petition is now officially available for the fine folks of Massachusetts to sign. Hooray for small mercies!

How many signatures do we need?

75,000
(accounting for potential disqualified Signature sheets)

Is this a feasible goal?

Well, lets think about it like this... To get enough signatures we need

213 SIGNATURES average for EACH TOWN/CITY IN MA

ONE SIGNATURE  for every 6.8 LTC HOLDERS in Massachusetts.

1.074% of MA's POPULATION to sign the petition.

Securing this number of signatures in such a short period—just one month—is undeniably a daunting challenge. However, the resilient citizens of Massachusetts have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to overcome significant obstacles throughout history. From their pivotal role in the American Revolution to their persistent advocacy for social justice and reform, the people of Massachusetts have never shied away from demanding tasks. This rich legacy of perseverance and determination suggests that, once again, the citizens are more than capable of rising to the occasion and meeting this formidable goal.
